Expanding your home library for your children does not have to be complicated. There are many ways to acquire children’s books that are both entertaining and educational. If you want your purchase to make a difference then you can purchase directly from the book sale forms that come home in your child’s folder. These usually come home monthly and a percentage of the bulk class purchase is kicked back to your child’s teacher so he or she can purchase more books at a discounted rate for the classroom. 

Another fun way to acquire books for your home library is to check out resale shops, garage sales and even library sales. You can usually find books for as low as a dime a piece when you look for used books. This is a great way to build up a library on a discount budget. You can also host a home show book party. There are several companies that provide in home or online based book sales. The host of the show often gets books at a reduced rate and sometimes can even earn free books. Once you have your child’s library stocked you can incorporate family reading time to help build fluency and recognition skills.
