Greenhouse gardening can be certified organic if you choose not to use pesticides as pesticides can cause damage to plants. Greenhouses can grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The only qualifier for greenhouse gardening is to not use chemical pesticides. There are many natural pesticide options out there. Organic gardening implies that no pesticides were used. Gardening can be done in cramped living situations as well as large homes with yards. Having a garden requires maintenance because that garden will be a useful tool for any hobbyist. Gardens can yield surprising amounts of food that spares you a trip to the grocery store.

There is a tendency with an organic greenhouse production to meet certain USDA organic certification requirements. Soil cannot be treated with chemicals for a minimum of three years, although you can have the option of using artificial light, even if you use organic seed as one basic necessary rule on greenhouse gardening. Natural pesticides include neem oil from India, which is made of 50 natural insecticides. Neem comes from a bitter tree leaf, where the neem oil comes from, mixed with mild liquid soap to two quarts of warm water that you spray on your plants.

Organic greenhouses can only be built without chemical additives for three years. Artificial light can be used but an organic seed is something that also has to be used. You can grow both organic and non-organic plants but non-organic cannot contaminate the organic plants. Organic greenhouse gardening is pretty much defined as gardening without using chemical interventions. Hydroponic gardens, on the other hand, thrive on “nutrient dense liquid solutions.”  Local certifying agents can help you qualify whether or not your greenhouse qualifies as organic.

Greenhouses keep plants from absorbing too much cold weather in the fall and winter. A greenhouse keeps plants growing in all weather, however, because the greenhouse is designed to seal plant seedlings or grown plants in. Having a greenhouse can make or break your organic garden. Other organic pesticides that can be used include salt spray made of Himalayan crystal salt, put into one gallon of warm water to spray on affected plants. Mineral oil is another natural pesticide that can cure your organic garden’s pest problems. You mix 10-30 ml of high-grade oil with one liter of water, which can work to sap insects of moisture as well as affect their eggs. Many natural pesticides exist besides this one.

Organic gardening can be fun, and you can wind up with a high vegetable yield. Some plants do wind up growing in a certain environment, as they can make sure you have vegetables in that particular batch of seeds. Organic gardening also implies that you do not use certain types of fertilizer or pesticides or specific kinds of livestock additives. Organic gardens can be started in seed planters using prepared soil. If a farmer markets more than $5,000 of products annually, they need to certify themselves in order to label products organic as they should be.
