We Can Learn A Lot About Being Prepared from the Bible!

The new generations like to believe they know all there is to know about being prepared. However, the newer generations lack some of the knowledge that the older generations keep hidden within. The Bible can teach us many things. It has much to teach us about who we are and what type of world we live in. We cannot afford to sit back and ignore what it has to say about so many aspects of our lives. Today our lesson is on being prepared and how it relates to modern-day times.

Genesis 6:21

We can take a lesson from Noah. He did not wait to build the ark. He started building it before the rain came. That is not how we live today. Look at how people shop in the grocery store. They wait until the last minute to stock up on storm supplies. They wait until a snow or rain storm is about to hit, then they go shopping. They find out that all the supplies are gone. More people could learn from Noah. Do an old testament overview sometime. You are going to see how much of the old testament relates to being prepared.

Proverbs 27:12

The wise prepare and the fools suffer. The word preparer might be part of our modern-day dictionary, but it came long before that. Proverbs encourage men to study the dangers that may or may not lie ahead, then develop a plan to fight it. A lot of the basic skills are still in practice. What happens if you need to fend for yourself in the wild. You are not going to fair well without a plan. Unfortunately, too many people live in the computer age. They want something they can relate to. Tech-savvy experts need to find out how to be better prepared in the computer age.

Proverbs 21:20

The wise man takes saving and preparing food seriously. What happens when the power goes out? Do you have a food plan to survive during those hours? You are going to need one. Short-term disasters require a few weeks. Long-term disasters require more time. Do you know how to survive on the food you have? The Bible shows how to make things last.

1 Corinthians 16:13

Faith seems to be something a lot of people are short on these days. With everything that is going on in the world, it is not that hard to believe. However, we do need to believe in something. The Bible teaches us about faith and being strong. We need to come back to those two ideals.

1 Thessalonians 5:6

Stay alert. Do not allow the outside world to turn you into a zombie who is incapable of thinking for yourself. The Bible teaches us to have conviction in our beliefs. The world is full of lust and greed. We need the Bible and its teachings more than ever.
